Chest Pains, Ctd.

So I made an appointment with my doctor to run some tests on my heart after the chest pains that I was having on Wednesday. My appointment was for 3:30 yesterday afternoon and I wasn't really too concerned about it.

However, during my last class of the day yesterday, at about 1:30, I began having chest pains again. Although they were not as painful as the ones I was having on Wednesday, I was beginning to think that there is something seriously wrong with me that this has now happened twice in 24 hours and it has never happened to me before.

So I made my way to the doctor's office to get an EKG and Echo test, etc. done to figure out what is causing the chest pains. While I was in the waiting room, I again had SEVERE, nauseating chest pains that were so painful that I couldn't breathe. The doctor instructed me to go to the Emergency Room immediately. So I got back into my car, tried to calm myself down despite the fact that I was bawling my eyes out, called Drew and informed him of the situation, and headed home.

Drew came with me to the Emergency Room at Saint Anthony's. We arrived at around 4:30yesterday and it wasn't until 2 hours later that I was finally given a room and had my blood drawn and X-Rays taken of my chest. They did do an EKG and said that it was not a heart attack, but were not able to determine what was causing the chest pains.

Funny story: They made me get in a gown, which has a hole in the middle of the front of the gown to put cords through- I was unaware of this hole, which was positioned strategically where my right nipple was. As I was being wheeled THROUGH the hospital, I definitely looked down and saw that I was exposing my nipple to everyone in the hospital.

So $120 later, at about 9:30 last night, I finally went home with no answers.

  1. Hopefully they figure out what's wrong with you! That can be scary... I've decided I'm not going to St. Anthony's ER again... I've been there twice and disappointed with the service each time... then again it may just be ERs in general
