We didn't even really go to a bunch of bakeries and sample a bunch of wedding cakes as most couples do. In the grand scheme of decisions that we have the make for our wedding, cake is at the bottom of our priorities. We really liked the taste and design of the cake that they made for his sister Sarah's wedding cake:

We ended up getting a four tier wedding cake with scroll work. The cake is amaretto with raspberry icing, with one of the tiers being devils food cake (I'm kind of a sucker for chocolate). We are going to decorate it with light pink flowers that match the bridal bouquet. It's very simple, but something that both Drew and I instantly agreed upon when we were flipping through their photo albums of wedding cakes.
In other news...school starts next week and while I am super pumped to get back into teaching, I am also secretly apprehensive of feeling constantly overwhelmed with the amount of grading that never seems to dwindle. Hopefully, having two cadet teachers this year will help and give me more time to focus on my lesson plans and come up with more creative ways for teaching my lessons.
I HAVE MY OWN CLASSROOM THIS YEAR!!!! That's right, no working off a rolling cart and going from classroom to classroom. I lucked out this year with two teachers retiring and one moving abroad, so suddenly we had a bunch of open classrooms for the taking.
P.S. I have not worked out in probably a month. Whoops. :)
dude i am psyched about cake - lubeley's is awesome!! and giiiirl, i haven't worked out in years, or so it feels like :/
